Old Ively Road, Pyestock, Farnborough, Hampshire. GU14 0LS Grid ref: SU 837541 |
The key to finding the CSSC is to reach Norris Bridge Roundabout on the A323 between Aldershot and Fleet. The other two roads that join this large roundabout straddling the Basingstoke Canal are the new, re-aligned Ively Road from Farnborough and the Old Ively Road, now a dead-end and signed as such. So, coming from Aldershot, take the 3rd exit off Norris Bridge roundabout; coming from Fleet, take the 2nd exit.
From the M3, Junction 4A, take the A327 signposted Farnborough (Fleet/Cove). At the next roundabout about a mile from the motorway take the first exit, across a bridge over a road and a railway. At the next roundabout, which is just over the bridge, take the first exit, passing Nokia offices on your left. Use the next small roundabout to effect a U-turn, and then turn left into Kennels Lane. At the roundabout at the end of this bendy road turn right towards Fleet. This is the new Ively Road, which leads in less than a mile to Norris Bridge Roundabout. Take the first exit.
From Farnborough, make your way to Ively Roundabout. This is the one with a jet aircraft on a pedestal bearing the words 'Sir Frank Whittle' in the middle. It is the third roundabout along the A327 from the A325 in the centre of Farnborough. From Ively Roundabout take the exit signed Fleet (A323) and Cody Technology Park. At the Whittle Roundabout (confusingly named! it is the one with five slate monoliths in the middle), turn right (3rd exit) signposted Fleet (A323). This is the new Ively Road. The next roundabout is the Kennels Lane one - turn left towards Fleet, bringing you in less than a mile to Norris Bridge Roundabout. Take the first exit.
Proceeding from Norris Bridge Roundabout, as you approach the point where Old Ively Road now ends, turn left into The Fairway (see map, below). As this road bends left, turn right to reach the car park. The CSSC clubhouse is on your left behind a hedge as you make this manoeuvre.
